Throughout the year you can enjoy the beaches of Barcelona, in winter if the day is sunny, just stretching out on the sand and listening to the sea without being bothered by anyone or in summer early in the morning, a good dip will activate you for the rest of the day, from 11 h -12 h in summer a lot of people start to come to the beach, the quietness ends even though there is always a little corner to rest.
What to say about the summer evenings, listening to music!,in the numerous stalls by the sea.
Which beach to choose?
Such a difficult question!, there are options for everyone, in Barcelona there are more than 5 kilometers of beaches, but we will propose the most famous and central.
Barceloneta Beach
This beach also includes SantSebastià beach, it has a sports club that by paying an entrance fee everybody can have access to its facilities including the pool and they also perform many activities related to the sea.
Next to the beach you will find many restaurants, bars, surf shops, etc … It is the most frequented beach by the citizens of Barcelona and the most visited by foreign tourists, it is almost always crowded.
At the end of the beach you will find the famous Hotel Vela and in the part that is on the level of the beach there are several restaurants with an unforgettable view of part of the coast of Barcelona.
It is one of the beaches with more services in Barcelona: Red Cross, lockers, adapted showers, adapted public toilets, children’s play area, parasols, hammocks, drinks and ice cream kiosks, sports equipment, bicycle parking, restaurants and wi-fi areas.

Vila Olimpica Beach
One of the most beautiful and quiet beaches of the city of Barcelona and it is often frequented by groups of friends and families with children. Its location is very central as it is located next to the Olympic Port and was created in the late eighties of last century, when the city of Barcelona decided to create an accessible coast to Barcelona.
Along the beach there are many restaurants with lovely views over the beach, during summer nights this corner of Barcelona is especially lovely for a quiet dinner and a later walking along the sea.
The beach has areas to practice sports volleyball, table tennis, rent chairs and umbrellas, lockers, public toilets and showers.

PobleNou beaches and Mar Bella
It’s my favorite, nice, quiet, less-crowded, with green and in front of a charming neighborhood like PobleNou beach.
The beach is well equipped with showers, first aid, changing rooms for the disabled, bars, etc … also has a sailing school for sailing sports.
Just 5 minutes away from the beach you will find the charming PobleNou district, with its numerous restaurants and bars, you can also stroll along the famous Rambla full of shops in which you can enjoy a great atmosphere and it’s always crowded with local neighbors and few tourists.
The nearest metro station is PobleNou (Line 4 – yellow).
Bars, hammocks and parasols “La dolce vita”
A good idea is to rent a hammock in the numerous beach bars that are in Barcelona, one feels like a maharaja, all day service of drinks and food, there is always a person attentive to what you might need. The cost of the hammock is approximately 6 euros a day.
Beach activities
Children: For children there are plenty of places where they can be installed to play, there are areas equipped as playgrounds where they can climb a network and have a lot of fun.
Adults: Choose between different schools of sailing and water sports on the beaches to enjoy the activity you like, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, paddle surfing, etc …
Accommodation near the beach
Near the beach you will find accommodation for all budgets, from the most luxurious hotels such as the Hotel Vela and the Hotel Arts, to lower budget hotels. The tourist apartments are perhaps the best choice when looking to save on accommodation.
Where to eat on the beach?
You will not have to search hard, you can eat in the new and attractive bars on the beach or if you want a more elaborate meal you can opt for the many restaurants by the sea.
Beach Bars:
Each year the city of Barcelona installs more bars on the sand of the beach due to the great demand of the people, they are places where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner since some of them open from about 9 o’clock in the morning till 12 pm and others until 2 o’clock in the morning non-stop.
