The subway is the most widely used transport in Barcelona and it stops in almost all neighborhoods, the metro is clean, with modern stations and some others are older but it is quick and efficient.

Timetable of the Barcelona metro

Barcelona metro opens daily at 5 am, except on days when it runs overnight (continuous service).

The end of service hours vary by day:

  • Weekdays (Monday to Thursday) and holidays: until 24:00
  • Friday and eve of public holidays until 2.00 pm.
  • Saturdays: continuous service throughout the night.
  • Sundays and public holidays during the week: up to 24 h.
  • December 24: until 23.00 h.

Barcelona metro fares

There are many metro fares, here we will focus on the most commonly used, single ticket and T10 fee.

Single ticket

Valid for a trip by subway and bus.

T10 ticket fee

If you are on vacation in Barcelona, this is the ticket that will come out cheaper to buy, you can use it for several people.

With this ticket you can make 10 trips to travel alone or accompanied in the subway and on the bus. It is individual.
